The journey to Villa 10….and by that, we mean the actual journey.
The transport options from Athens International Airport… land, sea and air.
To paraphrase that great Odet Adams song.. “doesn’t matter how you get here, just get here if you can”.
Athens Airport is the Gateway to Greece for most travellers. Whether arriving by private jet or by commercial airline it is an efficient and well operated airport with good connections to central Athens and the port of Piraeus.
For guests of Villa 10 these are the three main transfer options from the airport.
Most swish, is the helicopter option.
Villa 10 shares a large helipad with a number of neighbours.
Fly from either Athens International Airport’s heliport or with Ifly from the heliport at the Peace and Friendship stadium in Piraeus.
Most of Villa 10’s guests opt for the service offered by IFly (www.ifly.gr) which we recommend as we are confident about the quality of their helicopters, their maintenance standards and their pilots. The service is good value for money and the pilots are familiar with the villa’s helipad and regularly fly to the surrounding neighbourhood.
Villa 10’s super efficient Manager Host can arrange quotes for clients consideration.
The flight from Athens to Villa 10’s helipad takes approximately 30mins. From there it is a short walk (150m) to the villa or for those who are less mobile, Villa 10’s staff can arrange cars.
The drive from the airport is a proper ‘road trip’ drive down the first finger of the majestic Peloponnese.
2 1/2 hours along the coastal highway and coastal mountain road then cross country through the olive and citrus groves of agricultural Peloponnese; through tiny villages and wide open landscapes, small holdings and independent farms.
Goat herds and shepherds guide there flocks through grazing land as they have done for centuries. Stop off for a coffee at the Korinth Canal or one of the small tavernas or cafes that line the route.
Its a world class drive with some spectacular photo opportunities.
Villa 10’s Manager Host can arrange taxis, our local VIP transfer service or car rental.
Taxi or VIP transfer from Athens International Airport to the Port of Piraeus takes approximately 20 mins (public transport option of train from the airport is also available).
Hellenic Seaways Sea Kat or Flying Dolphin service runs 3 departures a day from Piraeus Port in June July and August (www.hellenicseaways.com).
Calling at the enchanting ports on the islands of Poros and Hydra and on to the near by village of Ermeoni – then the island of Spetses and onto to its final port of call, Porto Heli.
Transfers from nearby Ermeoni or Porto Heli can be arranged by Villa 10’s Manager.
By bus…it is an option!
